Dr. B.N. Sharma is a seasoned Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer with over 39 years of experience in public service, specializing in finance, power, and public policy. He played a crucial role in the development of India’s GST framework and the 101st Constitutional Amendment. As head of India’s delegation to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), he worked on enhancing financial compliance and strengthening institutions like the Enforcement Directorate and the Financial Intelligence Unit.
Dr. Sharma directed major reforms in India’s power sector, including rural electrification and the UDAY scheme, and is leading Rajasthan's renewable energy initiative aimed at achieving 90 GW by 2030. A Gold medalist in Financial Management, he holds degrees from renowned universities like Harvard, Duke, and UC Berkeley. He has served as the District Magistrate in three districts of Rajasthan and worked as a strategic advisor to global organizations such as the World Bank and UNICEF.
His leadership roles include serving in the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Power, and Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission. Dr. Sharma was the Founder Chairman of the National Anti-Profiteering Authority (GST) and held senior positions at organizations like RIICO and PFC. He has been instrumental in driving Rajasthan’s development and has made notable contributions in various governmental capacities.
